Our waste water is fully treated
|
 |
The earth’s
water supply never diminishes: it moves around in a constant cycle.
The water that can be used by people and by nature only diminishes
if it is contaminated. The prevention of water pollution therefore
demands economical consumption of water and the protection of water
from impurities.
Modern treatment plants
We have invested massively in plants for the treatment of waste water
and in the monitoring and modernisation of sewerage systems. Since
the year 2000, all effluent generated by DREWAG is treated before
being returned to the water cycle. Technological effluent from water
works, combined heat and power plants and heat plants first passes
through our modern treatment installations and is then discharged
into the public sewerage system. We monitor the water treatment plants
and water quality constantly. Furthermore, our storage facilities
for substances hazardous to water are state-of-the-art.
We attach particular importance to protecting groundwater. In protected
water catchment areas, our staff take care to ensure that neither
construction works nor traffic place the groundwater at risk.
